EKDC is a Boston based, modern dance company with members ranging in age from 8-28. It was founded two years ago by Abby Kazlousky. It a company committed to producing works that are funny, intelligent and meaningful to both dancer and audience. Current members consist of Danielle Duffy, Emily Knight, Jeung Soon Takeda. Taylor Guilmette and Abby Kazlousky. The current members have showed work at Mass College of Art and Dances This Side of Town.

“The Company: Marsha Parrilla, Angela Dixon, Joya Powell, Alicia Woo, Doreen Kramer, Sahar Javedani, Jeca Rodriguez and Omitola Hill. Who we are: Founded in 2007, under the artistic direction of the Puerto Rican artist Marsha Parrilla, Danza Orgánica is a dance theater company that works from the inside out. We deal with concepts such as: humanity, the environment, sociopolitical issues, as well as the enjoyment of our interculturalism. The outcome is a dynamic movement repertoire built to convey the meaning at hand. The core of Danza Orgánica is comprised of people from different parts of the world in order to promote diversity in dance. The company members represent different parts of the world including: Puerto Rico , Jamaica , United States , Russia , Iran , Thailand , China , and Brazil . Danza Orgánica also collaborates with other artists in innovative projects that contribute to the organic quality of our work.”
The Emerson Dance Company
Emerson Dance Company (EDC) is a student run organization whose sole purpose is to foster dance as an art form. All Emerson College students, regardless of dance experience, are welcome to become involved with the organization. The company works with all forms of dance and movement. Styles include jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, modern, lyrical, hip-hop, and more. Each semester EDC produces a showcase featuring new works by student choreographers. Members include: Shay Brown, Georgina Callender, Emily Geaman, Niki Gerber, Skylar Grossman, Carly Jurman, Michael Lupacchino, Amanda Maltz, Laura Murphy, Talia Sawyer, Kaitlin Walsh

Emerson Urban Dance Theatre (EUDT) is an independent dance project founded by Michael Love in the fall of 2006 to give student rhythm tap and hip-hop/ street jazz dancers at Emerson a voice and a forum for choreography and performance. EUDT is now a part of the flourishing dance community at Emerson and through collaborations with other dance organizations, is dedicated towards advancing rhythm tap dance and hip-hop/ street jazz on Emerson’s campus and in the larger Boston area college/student community.Members include:Shay Brown, Georgina Callender, Leanne Carroll, Staci DaSilva, Morgan Dubin, Alberto Familiar, Emily Geaman, Niki Gerber, Lucy Goldberg, Skylar Grossman, Wynn Harrison, Carly Jurman, Michael Love, Michael Lupacchino, Amanda Maltz, Chloe Medghalchi, Rudy Morales, Lauren Ryding, Talia Sawyer, Ryan Ziegler

Susi has been dancing and teaching for 19 years. She holds a BFA in Art Education and taught visual art in the Austin Public Schools and at the Art Museum School in Austin Texas. She teaches children's and adult's classes in Belly Dance and Middle Eastern Folk Dance for the Tony Williams Dance Center in JP and for other local children's arts programs. She has been studying the dances of the Middle East since 1993, training extensively in Egyptian, Lebanese and Armenian folk dances and oriental women's solo dance (bellydance). She is a popular performer by night: by day she runs the Tony Williams Dance Center office.

Johara is a solo dance performer, choreographer instructor of Middle Eastern Belly dance and fusion. She has a background in formal Jazz music and studies in mutilple forms of dance : Middle Eastern (Cabaret, folkloric, fusion); West African and Afro-Caribbean; and Latin dance styles along with some Jazz, Hip Hop, modern, and Ballroom. Some of her performance highlights include: The Boston Institute of Contemporary Art, the Cambridge River Festival, the opening for the Boston Revels at the Children’s Museum, Turkish festivals in Chicago and New York , and The International Folk Dance Festival in
Inegol , Turkey before an audience of 5000..Johara has been featured on local and Turkish television and has graced the covers of Boston newspapers including full feature articles in the Brookline and Watertown Tabs.Her choreography won the City Spotlights contest 2008.As the Artistic director of Snake Dance Theater Company, she has produced seven full length theater shows since and 2001. Her company has perfomed at such venues as: City Performing Arts Center, the Boston Center for the Arts, MIT’s Kresgee Auditorium, and on Boston and Cambridge television.

Sabrina is a creative and accomplished dancer who has been mesmorizing audiences since 1996. Using her unique and versatile talent Sabrina has created many award-winning dances, often blending the traditional and modern styles of belly dance into lively choreographies of visual beauty. Sabrina is a highly sought after belly dance instructor. She has been the inspiration of more than a few students who went on to become professional award winning dancers themselves. Sabrina has often been written about, talked about and seen in the local and national media. She is the House Dancer of the Middle East Restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts ; the Artistic Director and Hostess of Belly Dance Showcases & Workshops; and proudly performs with several local dance troupes including directing her own dance compancy, The Odalisque Dancers.Founded in the Fall of 2007, the award winning Odalisque Dance Company is a collective of students of Sabrina who, under her artistic direction, and with her collaborative methodology, perform to unique and creative choreography of the art of the belly dance while creating mesmerizing, thoughtful, and entertaining performance art pieces that incorporate classical and traditional belly dance as well as modern interpretations of the belly dance.
